AI agents that evaluate and act on options on a person's behalf.

Full explanation
Agentic Discovery is the process by which autonomous or semi-autonomous AI systems identify, evaluate, compare, and potentially act on information, products, or brands on a user's behalf. It extends the question from whether AI mentions a brand to whether an AI agent chooses it.
Why this matters
It moves the commercial question from mention to selection. An agent that shortlists on a buyer's behalf is making a purchase decision, not a visibility one.
Where this sits
Agentic Discovery belongs to AI-Mediated Discovery, one of the seven layers of the Aingworth Glossary. The larger shift Aingworth is talking about, covering Google AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and whatever comes after them, without depending on any one platform's name.
