Earned Authority
What others say about a brand when it is not in the room.
Aingworth Concept
Full explanation
Earned Authority is what others say about a brand when it is not in the room: the citations, references, and recognition that cannot be bought and cannot be faked.
Why this matters
It is the hardest condition to build and the one that separates a brand claiming expertise from one the field actually confirms. It is also the corner most brands score lowest on.
Where this sits
Earned Authority belongs to Recognition & Authority, one of the seven layers of the Aingworth Glossary. What Aingworth believes. Recognition is the outcome; authority is the evidence that makes it possible. These are the terms that belong to Aingworth, most of them first set out in Become the Answer.
