Retrievability
The degree to which a brand's information can actually be found and used.
Aingworth Concept
Full explanation
Retrievability is the degree to which a brand's information can be found, understood, and surfaced by the systems that retrieve information for search and AI-generated answers. Visibility is an outcome. Retrievability is the underlying condition that makes it possible.
Why this matters
It is the bridge between technical work and the recognition argument. A brand cannot be recognized if its information cannot first be found and understood.
Where this sits
Retrievability belongs to Retrieval, Evidence & Consensus, one of the seven layers of the Aingworth Glossary. Information exists, then it is retrieved, then sources are selected, then they corroborate one another, then consensus emerges. This is where Aingworth's Consensus Over Rankings thesis lives.
